This 3 day workshop is designed to teach participants how to create thematic maps with census data using ArcGIS 9.3 and practice simple spatial analysis with hand-on exercises. Workshop topics will include, but not limited to, basic concepts of GIS and ArcGIS 9.3 software, geospatial data, geodatabase, data joining, census data, geoprocessing and address geocoding. First time ArcGIS user should attend day1 where participants can learn the basics of ArcGIS software and census data. Day2 class will be focused on data joining and thematic map design along with geodatabase creation. In day3, user will practice simple spatial analysis techniques using Arc toolbox.
