Welcome to the CSDA's Working Paper Series. The following papers are part of an electronic working paper series sponsored by the Center for Social and Demographic Analysis and supported by grants from NICHD (R24-HD044943). The series was designed to give CSDA Associates an opportunity to have papers posted on our website. A working paper will remain posted until such time as it is turned into a publication. Once published, the full text of the paper will be removed from the website. However the full citation to the published version of the paper (author(s) full name, title, journal, volume number, page numbers, and date of publication) will be retained. If you are an Associate or Affiliate and are interested in submitting a paper or have any questions about the series, please contact apchelp@albany.edu. We hope you enjoy the series. Working papers can be viewed in Portable Document Format (PDF). To view PDF files, you will need the Acrobat Reader which is available for free from Adobe. 2008 | 2007 | 2004 | 2002 | 2001 | 2000 |1999 Working Papers 2007 2007-1: The case of the disappearing Mexican Americans: An ethnic-identity mystery Richard Alba and Tariqul Islam, University at Albany, SUNYAbstract | Working Paper 2007-1 has been published in the journal Population Research and Policy Review.
